About Us

As has been reported by major new outlets, Texas is a key state in the 2016 presidential race. Now is the time fellow Democrats, we must be vigilant in our pursuit to turnout the vote in Texas.

Democrats have a unique opportunity to sweep all races in Harris County, the largest county in Texas and turn it blue!  Republicans are concerned with turnout because Dangerous Donald is at the top of the ticket! Even though there is optimism in the air, there are still challenges we must overcome.

There are over 260,000 suspended voters on the Harris County rolls who are unaware that they need to register to vote again, either because their voter registration card was returned with an invalid address, due to a possible address change/relocation, or they have not voted in consecutive federal elections.

Although the restrictive Voter ID law in Texas has been recently turned back, if a voter has not been issued or does not possess an approved form of voter ID, the voter must swear or affirm and sign a declaration of reasonable impediment under penalty of perjury and present one of the following forms of identification:

  • Valid voter registration certificate
  • Certified birth certificate (must be an original)
  • Copy of or original bank statement
  • Copy of or original government check
  • Copy of or original paycheck
  • Copy of or original government document with your name and an address (original required if it contains a photograph)

Since 2010 systematic voter oppression has been a component of voter ID laws, Harris County is no stranger to these shenanigans.  Stan Stanart, Harris County Clerk issued a warning that his office will look into those signing affidavits claiming they donít have required identification. He said, ďIf they think they can come in and vote without an ID when they have one sitting in their pocket, thatís going to be a problem.Ē  Mr. Stanart sounds like he is trying to intimidate Harris County voters.

Despite these antics we will work to turn Harris County and Texas BLUE!
